The TTW01B Defender is a 60 Hz, Type B plug-in unit, the standard electrical configuration used throughout most of North America, including the United States and Canada. With a maximum cooling capacity of 1,440 BTU/h, it is well suited for small, well-insulated wine cellars. The self-contained through-the-wall design simplifies installation, allowing many homeowners to install the unit without the need for specialized HVAC equipment or professional refrigeration contractors.

The BTU/h value shown here is a theoretical number. There are often circumstances under which a cellar design may require a larger unit due to variables not accounted for in the formula. For example, these variables could be building materials (such as glass, stone, concrete, etc.) which do not offer the insulation capacity required to maintain the optimal cellar environment. We recommend purchasing a unit with a larger capacity to compensate for these unaccounted-for variables. An undersized unit can lead to premature failure and will most likely prevent the cellar from reaching your desired temperature.

Designed for wine cellars located in unheated spaces, it automatically activates when the cellar temperature drops approximately 2–6°F (1–3°C) below the selected set point, helping maintain a stable environment year-round.
Low Ambient Protection
Low Ambient Protection safeguards the cooling system when outdoor temperatures fall below 40°F (5°C). This feature helps ensure reliable operation during colder weather, making it especially beneficial for installations in garages, basements, or exterior walls exposed to seasonal temperature changes.
Serving Temperature
The Serving Temperature option expands the temperature control range from 42°F to 64°F (5°C to 18°C), allowing your wine cellar to function as both a storage and serving space. Ideal for wine cabinets, small wine rooms, restaurants, tasting rooms, clubs, and collectors who prefer to store wines closer to serving temperature or adjust settings throughout the year.
